We are halfway through winter, and the days are cold and short. It’s time to start thinking about the kind of comfort food you would like on your next weekend getaway. There is always the easy option of Mac and Cheese, but have you heard of Cheeseburger Mac and Cheese? Sounds bizarre, right? But stay with us here, you’re going to love it!
Ingredients for four servings:
- 4 tsp of olive oil
- 1/2 chopped onion
- 250g ground beef mince
- 250g of macaroni
- 200ml of pasta sauce
- 1/2 cup of full cream milk
- 3/4 cup of beef stock
- Handful of shredded cheese
- Drizzle some olive oil on a large pan.
- Toss 1/2 a chopped onion onto the pan until it’s tender and soft.
- Add 250g of ground beef mince and stir for a few minutes or until the meat starts to brown.
- Add 250g of macaroni and 1/2 a jar (200ml) of pasta sauce and stir well for a few minutes.
- Stir in 1/2 a cup of full cream milk and 3/4 of a cup of beef stock.
- When the mixture starts to boil, turn down the heat, and leave it to simmer for 20 minutes. Stir regularly.
- Once the meal has been cooked, add a handful of shredded cheese to your choosing.
It’s as easy as that and much more fresh than your regular Mac and Cheese. Enjoy!
