Description

CAOS POWER 50A Voltage Sensitive Relay Kit (VSR)

By installing the CAOS Power VSR Kit into the CAOS Power Battery Box, you can easily create a dual battery setup for your vehicle.

The VSR is basically an automatic isolator switch, that connects the circuit from the crank/starter battery directly to the auxiliary battery (inside the box) when the voltage reaches 13.2V, so that the auxiliary battery charges from the alternator while the car is running.

When the ignition is switched off and battery voltage drops below 12.8V, the VSR automatically isolates the auxiliary battery from the crank/starter battery so that you don’t risk flattening the starter battery.

Features:

  • Easy retro-fit into the CAOS POWER Battery Box

  • Fully automatic operation

  • Inbuilt surge protection

  • All CAOS POWER products are manufactured using the highest quality materials

Notes on VSR Kit Installation:

  • The VSR Kit Installation Instructions describe disconnecting one of the incoming positive wires from one of the four Anderson plugs to connect to the VSR

  • However, the positive wires from two of the four Anderson plugs are crimped together into one eye terminal

  • It is not necessary to split one of the positive wires off from the eye terminal, the double positive wires can be connected to the VSR

  • In doing this option, the only thing to be aware of is that those two Anderson plugs can only be used for either 12V input or output when the VSR is active, i.e. the VSR switch is on when voltage is above 13.2V

  • The other two Anderson plugs that are not connected through the VSR can be used to power 12V devices regardless of the VSR state, provided the main switch is ‘On’
